Record Exports, Steady Domestic Demand Boost Ford India Sales in November

· Ford India sold 10,155 cars in combined domestic wholesales and exports in November
· Ford India exports hit a record high for the second consecutive month in November, with 4,211 cars shipped; year-to-date exports stand at 26,053
· Growing its pan-Indian network further in Tier Two and Three cities, Ford India opened dealerships at three locations at Jaipur, Rewari and Sirsa last month

Record exports combined with steady domestic demand during the Indian festive season helped Ford India deliver sales of 10,155 domestic wholesale and export units in November.

Despite persistent market challenges on the subcontinent, domestic sales remained healthy with 5,944 vehicles sold in November this year compared to 8,322 units sold in November 2011.

Ford India exported 4,211 cars last month, an over 200 percent increase from 1,769 units exported in November last year. Exports hit an all-time high for the second consecutive month after shipments hit 3,371 units in October. Ford India also added two new export markets last month – Algeria and Tunisia – taking the number of export markets to 37.

“By delivering vehicles which are packed with smart technologies, great safety features, are incredibly fuel efficient and which offer a terrific value for money package, we continue to attract many new-to-Ford customers,” said Vinay Piparsania, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Ford India. “Despite ongoing market challenges, we are very pleased to see customer sentiments improving and their confidence in the Ford brand continuing to grow.”

Boosting its pan-Indian sales and service network, the company opened three new dealerships in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Rewari and Sirsa in Haryana last month, taking the number of sales and service outlets to 247 in 129 cities. The company plans to take the number to over 500 by mid-decade.
