Nicola Formichetti To Transform Galeries Lafayette Into Art Gallery

Diesel have unveiled their plans to present a reimagining of the legendary aesthetics of Galeries Lafayette, Paris, with a spectacular ten-day takeover of the space by emerging artists.

This takeover from October 14th – 24th will see original artwork from crowd-sourced submissions on #Dieselreboot Tumblr displayed on an unprecedented scale at Galeries Lafayette, turning the iconic Parisian shopping destination into an immersive gallery of crowdsourced global Tumblr art curated by Diesel’s new Artistic Director Nicola Formichetti. This is the fourth mission from Formichetti to ‘Show me your artwork’, initiating the new phase of Diesel’s history.

Diesel are seeking submissions from a new band of creatives, breaking boundaries and making genre-skewing work that represents the new era of Diesel. This art celebrates the unexpected and is part of the global #Dieselreboot that takes artists from the unknown to the iconic by providing a series of epic platforms that radicalise their creativity and hacks the classical to make space for the contemporary.

Diesel and Galeries Lafayette will unveil this dramatic phase of #Dieselreboot on 14th October, with the concept realised digitally as Nicola Formichetti and selected artists curate the Galeries Lafayette blog “Carnet de Mode” for the duration of the physical takeover.
