Payments made easy: PAYMILL expands to Romania

PAYMILL, the innovative payment service provider, is now available in Romania. The company gives online stores and service providers on the internet the ability to integrate common payment methods into their platform, with a particular emphasis on online card payments. PAYMILL currently operates in 37 countries all over Europe.

Mark Henkel, CEO and co-founder of PAYMILL: “The continuous expansion within Europe reinforces our leading innovative position in the European online payment market advancing our goal to enable everyone to make fast and transparent payments. In the past few years there has been a sharp rise in the number of e-commerce businesses, start-ups and especially SaaS businesses in Romania. This why there has been a strong demand in Romania in the past for an innovative service provider. With today’s launch, PAYMILL aims to support Romanian entrepreneurs and already existing SMEs by allowing them to add the ability to take online payments extremely quickly and more easily than has previously been possible.”

The company’s simple and developer friendly API enables merchants to integrate an online payment system without the traditional hassle and the significant integration time that is usually required. PAYMILL flexibly integrates with a merchant’s website and does not require a customer to be redirected to make a payment. This leads to fewer customer dropouts and significantly higher conversion rates.
PAYMILL is the first provider to have brought a simple and user-friendly technical solution to Europe. The fast onboarding process and the transparent price, in combination with comprehensive customer support sets PAYMILL apart from other popular online payment providers. In January, the company raised 10 million Euros in a funding round from the investors Rocket Internet, Holtzbrinck Ventures, RI Digital, Sunstone Capital and Blumberg Capital.

PAYMILL GmbH was founded in Munich, Germany, in June 2012 by Mark Fabian Henkel. The management team is complemented by Dr. Stefan Sambol, Jörg Sutara and Kilian Thalhammer. The company currently employs 40 staff, mostly with a technical background. PAYMILL is active in 37 countries across Europe and other regions. For more information got to
