Great things to do in Toronto, Canada

CN Twoerr Toronto

Toronto is one of the most visited cities in Ontario, Canada and also one of the most loved places by locals, tourists and travellers. Canada is, for many, a dream country – to move there or at least to be able to visit it. Toronto is one of the cities that should definitely be included in any bucket list and, locals say, not for the famous landmarks or restaurants and clubs, but for the diversity it offers: from the green spaces to the people, from the different districts to the restaurants and food, from the entertainment options to the historical sites.

Get the perfect view over the city from the CN Tower

It’s impossible to miss it as this is a 553.33 meters in height construction chosen by many tourists as the perfect spot to get a perfect view of Toronto and its surrounding areas. Take in consideration making a reservation at the restaurant located at the tower’s top-floor to enjoy the view for a longer while. Also, be prepared to „travel” with an glass elevator and keep in mind that a part of the floor of the observation deck is transparent!

Go on a special trip at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)

For the museum lovers – and maybe not only for them – a stop at this museum would definitely be a great experience. This is the largest museum of world cultures and natural history in the country and houses six million objects in its collections and galleries showcasing art, archaeology and science. Yes, that is impressive – and yes again, if you want to visit it, make sure you book at least a day! It will definitely be quite a „trip” – in different periods of time and in different countries and empires.

This museum is interesting from the outside too, and its bizarre, puzzling glass exterior cannot leave you indifferent: you wither find it interesting, surprising, or it bothers you. But it sure makes an impression!

Go shopping at the Eaton Centre

It’s not all about culture or special landmarks, sometimes it is also about shopping and the Eaton Centre is the perfect place for you – 250 stores await for you and they address various budgets and preferences. Plus, this mall is located in the heart of Toronto’s downtown – so it is very easy to get there and you can find some a great vacation rental on Kijiji in any desired part of Toronto.

Take a walk in The Distillery District

A special pedestrian-only area awaits to be discovered in this district with beautiful houses, part of the heritage architecture of Toronto. This part of the city offers you an impressive number of restaurants, pubs, cafes, features a wellness centre but, most importantly, promotes arts and culture so it is a perfect place to go beyond famous tourist commercial places for a while.

Admire Toronto’s only castle: Casa Loma

Even if it never housed royalty, this is a jewel in terms of architecture. It was built between 1911 and 1914 for Sir Henry Pellat, a wealthy financier, it is said to be similar to the Hearst Castle in Calfornia, and it is still a famous tourist site in the area. It was a house that offered perspective over the city – often called the „House on the Hill” and featured impressive options – an elevator, central vac and so on. Various tours are available, so don’t miss this next time you’re in Toronto.

These are only five of the most attractive things you can do and see in Toronto. Like I already mentioned, the city lures tourists all year long and features attractions and sights for any taste (and budget), from solo travelers to families travelling with kids.
